Posted by Adam2Marsh 7 Comments

What started as an impulse buy has now turned into a grand adventure full of danger and choices on an unimaginable scale. This quest requires the help of everyone with a PC, so join us in probably one of the greatest adventures we’ve had on 16bits, AngryDragon’s quest to build a PC.

Last week the quest started when a case was brought, to be successful we need to complete the build by finding the best parts that won’t cost a fortune in gold. So how do you join us on this epic adventure full of pitfalls and CPUs…

We want to know what’s inside your PC? And what would you recommend to someone who’s building one? These can be tips on what to buy, what to look out for or maybe a part which you truly desire.

So what does AngryDragon want? Well he has a case which cost £22 (picture below) and wants to fill the case with components for around £200 to £300. He’s a former AMD and Radeon fan and that’s it….

So to start here’s my PC spec with a picture of my dragon…

And remember leave some recommendations for everyone to learn from. But don’t worry weary travelers because for everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a competition to win a Beta Code for Air Buccaneers!!! So go on and help a friend in need; you might even win a prize for doing so, Good Luck and Thanks!

I should add that I don’t need a hard drive for now, or a power supply as I have these as well. I will ideally want to stick 16g of ram in later on as well.

People often spend a Metric F*!kton on
fantastic hardware but miss one very important piece.

it’s the one item you spend all your time looking at.

Remember to save some for a good Monitor

Why spend all that cash just to look at a crappy screen?

  • Thewelshboymatt

Thanks dude, I’ll be using a 32 inch full HD tv for the for see able future. I’ll likely invest in a decent 24″ wide screen monitor when I can afford it.

I now have secured a copy of 64bit windows 7 to run on the machine. Another £37 spent, taking the total cost to £59 so far.

I don’t have a picture of my PC(Or a camera/phone to take a picture, for that matter), but I can give the specs.

Case: Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX

    Case fans: 1 x 120mm TriCool rear fan, 1 x 140mm TriCool top fan

    Motherboard: Biostar TH55B HD

    CPU: Intel Core i3 Processor i3-540 3.06GHz 4MB

    Memory: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 (Same card as the one in the article :P )

And there’s my PC^^ As for advice, it’s really the only PC I’ve ever bought, so I’m not really qualified to give advice…Although I will say she was fairly inexpensive all things considered, and I still to this day have not found any game I can’t run at highest settings :)
