Last week I wrote a post about the upcoming squeal Dead Rising 2, if you didn’t read that then click here.
Dead Rising Case: Zero is a prologue to Dead Rising which is coming out on the 24th of September. It is only available on the Xbox Marketplace and can be yours for 400 Microsoft points.
It starts with Chuck and his daughter Katey pulling into a gas station to fill up and get supplies. While the car fills up, in a typical American fashion they leave the car unlocked while they have a look around and fill up on supplies. All of a sudden they here the engine start up and it drives off leaving them stuck in Still Creek surrounded by flesh eating zombies. They barricade themselves in the gas station to save them from the zombies which were coming towards them. Now the game starts and the first thing you need to do is to get more Zombrex for your daughter. Now thats all i am going to tell you about the story so you can find out the rest for yourself….
Just like the full game you will be able to combine weapons together, so grab a box of nails and a baseball bat and you can combine them to make your very own baseball bat covered with nails. Now there are many different items you can combine, one more is a bottle of beer/whiskey and a paper and you have got your very own Molotov. There are many more out there and you will have to keep a eye out for a Blue Spanner on items which tells you that they can be combined.
While your in Still Creek you will find other survivors that if you help you will be rewarded with extra PP which levels you up quicker. But these survivors have only got so much time before they become overrun by zombies. In the game you can access your watch where it shows you what time it is and how long you have left on certain objectives.
Dead Rising Case:Zero is a great idea and huge amounts of fun. If your planning on getting Dead Rising 2 then I would advise on getting this for 3 main reasons.
- Its only 400 Microsoft Points for a game which will keep you busy until Dead Rising 2 is out.
- It gives you a great preview of gameplay which will only get better the more you play it
- And a in-depth story which provides the gap between Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2
