Direwolf Update v5.0.1 Bug and Fix

Posted by Adam2Marsh 2 Comments

This week I updated our Minecraft Feed The beat sever to the latest version of the Direwolf Mod Pack, but this didn’t go too well at all… At 1 point I thought we might even lose our world. But luckily Ihadris found out how to cure the issue and we’re back online! This issue should only affect people who have used Mystcraft to travel to a new world.

This is a strange issue as it won’t produce any errors when your sever boots up, your issue will be Minecraft can’t reach the sever and it won’t allow you to connect. Here is what we saw:

If you’re a FTB Minecraft player and are having the same issue we did, then here’s how we cured it. I can’t promise it will work and please ****Back Up**** all your files before proceeding! We cant take liability for anything you lose or break, so if you don’t feel confident do not try this!

Firstly you’ll need access to the files on your sever, whether you did this online via your provider or through FTP.
The first step is finding “Twilight.cfg”, this should be in your Config Folder on your Sever:

Once found you’ll now need to edit that file in Notepad. Once opened find the part that says “DimensionID:1″, you can do this by searching(control + F)… Or reading every line until you find it.

Once located change the ID from “1″ to “999″. Now save that file making sure you update it on the sever.

Now reboot your Minecraft Sever and login. Hopefully this will fix your issue and you can enjoy FTB Minecraft once again.

UPDATE:- Thanks to Paul for pointing this out! Any changes made will be over written when you update your FTB laucher (keep this in mind). Direwolf20 has advised he’s hoping to resolve this issue in future update to prevent anyone having this problem

If anyone has had to change their DimensionID in the settings, bear in mind that future updates downloaded through the FTB Launcher will overwrite any changes you have made.
Direwolf20 posted a fix for this on YouTube, so hopefully the next time there is an update, then it will have already been addressed in order to prevent clashes.
