Couple of months ago we tried to run a tournament for a classic retro game, and we’re back to try again. The game is Super Smash Bros Tournament, memory a little fuzzy have a quick read below.
Super Smash Bros Overview:
Released on the Wii back in June 2008, it was the sequel to the very popular Smash Bros Melee. This game is easy to play but had to master, it put some of Nintendo’s best characters against each other in a fight to prove who was best. It featured Link, Mario, Captain Falco, Fox, Pokemon Trainer, Kirby and many more. Each with their own unique moves and specials which created mayhem in the battlefield.
When released the game had a brilliant singleplayer and offline multiplayer, the problem was its online multiplayer. It just didn’t work, if you could get into a game it would then be unplayable due to lag. BUT we played it last weekend and it worked, not perfectly but enough to kick each other around a bit!
All you need is a copy of the game, a Wii or Wii U and a spare evening. The event will be streamed (here) so if you can’t or don’t fancy playing you can join in and watch. I’ve also spoken to a few friends of 16bits for their help and appearance to make the event even better, more info soon……..
Initial entries have confirmed the tournament will be held on the 06/07/2013, so if you haven’t entered you’ve still got time.
If you fancy participating then fill in the form below and register your interest.
